How it works
Creator fees build up on-chain for the person named at launch. Once they confirm the Venmo handle is theirs, the fees are paid out on Venmo.
01
Name someone
Any existing Venmo username. They don’t need an account here.
02
Launch the coin
The launcher pays ~0.02 SOL to pump.fun. They never hold the fees.
03
Trades earn fees
About 0.30% of every trade goes to the coin’s own fee vault.
04
They get paid
After confirming the handle is theirs, fees are paid out on Venmo.
01
02
Generated
pump.fun credits the creator about 0.30% of each trade (the schedule varies with market cap) on the bonding curve and PumpSwap.
Collected
The fee worker claims creator fees into the coin’s vault and records the claim signature. Duplicate signatures are ignored.
Converted
SOL is swapped to PYUSD, the settlement asset. Failed swaps are recorded as failed and never credit the balance.
Awaiting disbursement
A payout intent reserves the amount so it can’t be paid twice. If the recipient hasn’t verified yet, it waits as “awaiting recipient”.
Transfer initiated
An operator sends the payment through an available rail.
Delivered or failed
Delivered only once a payment reference is reconciled. Failures return to the queue with the reservation intact.
03
Step 1
Username entered
A launcher named this Venmo handle. Nothing is implied about identity yet.
Step 2
Recipient verified
The person behind the handle confirmed ownership with us (claim link or operator attestation).
Step 3
Payout destination established
They chose how to receive: PYUSD to their Venmo crypto deposit address, or a manual Venmo transfer.
Step 4
Payout ready
Converted funds are reserved against an open payout intent.
Step 5
Paid
Settlement evidence recorded (tx signature or Venmo payment reference).
An unverified handle never blocks a launch or fee accrual. It only blocks payout, so money can’t be misdirected. Check if you were named →

Launching costs a small amount of SOL. This app never reads or moves your Venmo balance; every transfer is something you do inside Venmo.
SOL
Venmo → your Solana wallet
Buy SOL in Venmo's Crypto tab, then Send to your own wallet address. You initiate every step inside Venmo; this app never touches your Venmo balance.
PYUSD
Venmo → Solana (PYUSD) → swap to SOL
Send PYUSD from Venmo to your Solana wallet, then swap PYUSD→SOL on a DEX to pay launch and trading costs.
ETH
Venmo → Ethereum → bridge to Solana
ETH lands on Ethereum. Moving it to Solana needs a third-party bridge (e.g. Wormhole/Portal). Extra fees and time.
USD balance
Venmo cash → Solana
Venmo cash can't be sent to a blockchain directly. Use a checkout on-ramp that accepts PayPal/Venmo funding (optional adapter, not yet verified here).
BTC / LTC / BCH
to Solana
Venmo can't send these to Solana. Sell in Venmo and buy SOL or PYUSD instead.
05
Venmo’s Developer and Payouts APIs are retired for new applicants, so there is no automated “pay @username” rail. Today a verified recipient is paid either by an operator sending the Venmo payment manually and recording its reference, or by PYUSD sent on Solana to a deposit address the recipient generated inside Venmo. Expect a 0.5–1% conversion cost, Solana network fees, and settlement delays of up to a few business days while the queue is reviewed.

Not legal advice; no approvals claimed.
Money transmission
Holding fees in custody and paying third parties likely constitutes money transmission in the US (FinCEN MSB registration, state licenses) unless structured through a licensed partner.
AML / KYC / sanctions
Recipients must be identity-verified and screened (OFAC) before any payout; launchers’ wallets should be screened against sanctioned addresses.
Venmo acceptable use
Venmo personal accounts prohibit commercial use and unauthorized third-party activity; manual payouts at scale risk account action. A licensed payout provider is the right production path.
Securities / consumer protection
Tokens are speculative; disclosures and no promises of returns. Recipients are not token owners and don’t need to be.
Tax
Payouts to US recipients may require 1099 reporting above thresholds.
